Piłka nożna (ang. football) – gra zespołowa, najpopularniejsza na świecie dyscyplina sportowa. W zawodach (meczach) piłkarskich uczestniczą 2 rywalizujące ze sobą drużyny. Celem gry jest umieszczenie piłki w bramce przeciwnika, zwycięża drużyna, która uczyni to więcej razy. Mecze piłkarskie odbywają się na prostokątnym, pokrytym murawą boisku. Rozmiary boiska to 45 m do 90 m szerokości i długości od 90 m do 120 m.
